Packrafting Fish Creek: Union Pass to Slide Lake
This weekend we headed out for a packrafting adventure with a crew of friends. We started in the Wind River Range around Union Pass near Three Rivers mountain—the area contains the headwaters of rivers which eventually lead to the Mississippi, the Colorado and the Columbia. Pretty cool!
Packrafts are what we’ll be using in the Arctic. The beauty of packrafts is they are lightweight (around 7 pounds) and easy to inflate and pack. Add a collapsable paddle and you’re ready to go. Here’s a video Forrest McCarthy put together from our fun this weekend, which helps understand what packrafting is about.
Thanks for the video Forrest!
